如何設定WES8的WEDU(Windows Embedded Developer Update)

You can update Windows 7, Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (Windows 7 SP1), and Windows Embedded 8 Standard (Standard 8) by using Windows Embedded Developer Update 1.2 (WEDU 1.2).

Windows Embedded 8 Standard (Standard 8)的WEDU(Windows Embedded Developer Update)相關設定步驟如下：

一、To enable updates for a catalog, distribution share, or repository database

1、In WEDU 1.2, in the Windows Embedded Developer Update window, in the left pane, expand the node for registered products.
2、Click the Add Distribution Share link to add a distribution share or click the Add Catalog link to add a catalog for that product.

3、In the Windows Embedded Developer Update dialog box, in the Name box, enter the name that you want WEDU 1.2 to display. You must enter a display name that is unique within the list.

4、In the Path box, enter the local path or network path to the catalog or distribution share. You can type the path or browse to the location. To browse, click the Browse button, navigate to the location, and then click OK.

5、To save your changes, click Finish.

Note：If the path that you entered is not valid, you cannot save your changes or edit other paths until you enter a valid path.

二、To find updates for specific tools, catalogs, distribution shares, or repository databases

1、In WEDU 1.2, in the Windows Embedded Developer Update window, in the left pane, expand the node for the registered products, and verify that the product that you want to update is listed.

2、Click Start Scan to search for updates for all registered products.

3、After the search for updates is complete, expand the node for the product that contains the tools, catalogs or distribution shares that you want to update. 

4、Click the node for the tools, or the node for the catalog or distribution share that you want to update.Then, in the right pane of the window, click the Available Updates tab. All available updates appear. If no updates appear, either no updates are available for the product, updates were previously hidden, or all available updates for the product were previously installed.

5、To select updates and run “Download and Install”.
